As everyone knows, the State of Odisha continuously faces various natural disasters, hunger, and poverty. Despite being richly endowed with mineral, forest and marine resources, the majority of Odisha's people remain poorer than those in several African nations. Over 40% of children are severely malnourished and millions continue to die from malnutrition every year.
Almost 85% of people live in rural areas. Unemployment, illiteracy, and lack of awareness are major challenges. Most families live in slum areas or temporary homes without safe drinking water or sanitation.
UPKAR requests your help and support. Donations of any amount will make a lasting difference in the life of unprivileged tribal children. Your gift is a blessing and goes directly to meeting the needs of these children.
UPKAR — a Regd. Non-Govt. Organization — serves free nutritious meals and free education to unprivileged children. We provide free books, connect families to Anganwadi schools, and have provided flood relief to hundreds of families. Our dedicated youth volunteers work tirelessly from the heart and soul.
Our foundation is built on three pillars that guide every decision we make
To inspire, enable and empower the rural and urban poor/marginalized people to improve their livelihoods and lead a dignified life through economic upliftment, education support, health services, food and nutrition support and advocacy/networking.
To inspire, enable and empower the youths of all gender to lead a dignified life under a healthy environment. Catalyst for poverty eradication, enhancement of employability, secure dignified life and sustainable growth.
We champion responses rooted in science and human rights that directly engage with affected communities — addressing issues of marginalization based on gender and other factors influencing equitable access to quality care.
